Inflation Reduction Act/Direct Pay

Through the Inflation Reduction Act, local governments, nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities and other tax exempt entities like faith based organizations are eligible to receive direct payments equal to the full value of tax credits made available for qualifying energy projects.

Eligible direct payment projects include those that:

• Generate clean electricity through solar, wind, and battery storage;
• Build community solar projects that bring clean energy to neighborhood families;
• Install electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure; and
• Provide for the purchasing of clean vehicles for state or city vehicle fleet.
